Offered is a beautiful 70's ELAC 50H fully automatic stereo turntable manufactured in Germany. ELACs are quality, well built turntables from Electroacustic GmbH and were distributed in the USA by Benjamin Electronic Sound Corp under the brand Miracord. ELAC was a major competitor of Dual Electronics and they battled it out for the US market share. In my estimation the 50H competes very well with the Dual 1219 and 1019 models.
The turntable plays at four speeds (16, 33, 45, 78 rpm) with record size selection. It plays both single or multiple LPs. While the design is somewhat industrial looking in appearance (remember German engineering) the operation and play is quite graceful and precise. It has a number of features that include anti-skate, light stylus tracking, well dampened cueing and a built in stylus brush that doubles as an overhang gauge. The full size (12") hefty platter is smoothly driven by an idler wheel and heavy duty Pabst motor. It even has a platter breaking system to slow rotation at the end of play. The tonearm holds a well matched Empire cartridge with new elliptical diamond stylus. The table sits in an original Benjamin base with nice tinted set-on dustcover.
The table has been serviced and is fully operational. It is set up for your viewing and testing. Local pickup in Moorpark, CA.
